A Sense of Belonging

After a long day of renovating and making repairs to Katie-Lew, we sit and have dinner then retire to the sitting area. The sitting area is our scaled down cottage version of a living room.

From the sitting area, we look across to the far side of Crow Cove where a good part of Rose Blanche resides on the hillside .

Through the darkness of an October night, we can see the lights of town. For many people, the town lights wouldn't be a novelty, but they are for us. At our rural home on the Madawaska River, we don't see more than a single light from our closest neighbours on either side.

Though from here on Parsons Point, when we look across the Cove, we see a half dozen streetlights and an assortment of dimmer glows from porches and windows. So even after dark, we get a sense of belonging as the lights remind us that we're part of this seaside community.
